Introduction to the Colossians Study The Epistle to the Colossians is a powerful letter that lifts up the supremacy of Jesus Christ over creation, redemption, and the Church. Written by the Apostle Paul from prison, it addresses a young congregation threatened by teachings that sought to add human traditions, mystical experiences, and man-made rules to the gospel. Paul’s response is clear and timeless: Christ is all we need. In these four chapters, Paul paints a breathtaking picture of Christ as the visible image of the invisible God, the Creator and Sustainer of all things, the Head of the Church, and the One who has reconciled us through the blood of His cross. He calls believers to continue in Him, rooted and built up, walking in faith, love, and thanksgiving. For today’s church, Colossians is as relevant as ever. In a world filled with competing philosophies, spiritual counterfeits, and endless distractions, Paul’s message calls us back to the center: Christ alone is sufficient. Our hope, identity, and fullness are found in Him—not in rules, rituals, or worldly wisdom. Through this study, we will learn how to: Treasure Christ’s supremacy and sufficiency. Resist false teachings and deceptive philosophies. Live out our new life in Christ in love, holiness, and thanksgiving. Grow together as a church under the Headship of Christ. May this journey through Colossians deepen our faith, strengthen our unity, and help us walk worthy of the Lord who has made us complete in Him. 🗓 Every Thursday at 7PM 📍 Foursquare Gospel Church (Praise Chapel), London 💬 Engage, reflect, and grow in your faith with fellow believers.
